What is the Interlaken Pass and who is authorized to use it?
If you are staying overnight in Interlaken, Matten, Unterseen, Wilderswil, Saxeten, Gsteigwiler, Bönigen, Iseltwald, Ringgenberg, Goldswil and Niederried, you pay visitor's tax.
As compensation, you will receive a guest card.
The Interlaken Pass is the digital version of your personal guest card during your stay in our Holiday Region Interlaken.
How can I get the Interlaken Pass?
Your host will take care of this together with you - either your details will be entered directly or you will receive a registration link by email in advance.
This way, everything is ready and you can use the guest card as soon as you arrive.
If this is not the case, please contact your host directly first or you will receive the Interlaken Pass on arrival at your accommodation.
Otherwise you are welcome to contact our guest information:
mail@interlakentourism.ch, +41 (0)33 826 53 00
In which form is the Interlaken Pass issued?
After activation, the Interlaken Pass can be opened online at any time in the user account created.
It can also be saved from here on your smartphone or downloaded as a PDF.
Does every guest need an Interlaken Pass? What happens if I bring my children?
Your Interlaken Pass is personalised and each guest therefore has their own pass.
Children aged 6 to 16 also each receive an Interlaken Pass.
Children under the age of 6 do not receive a pass. However, the services for them are free of charge. Find out more about this in detail individually.
Do dogs qualify for the Interlaken Pass?
No, dogs are not authorised to travel on the Interlaken Pass.
Your four-legged family members travel free of charge on Jungfrau Railways routes (excluding the route from Eiger Glacier to Jungfraujoch).
You can find more information about dogs on public transport here.
Before your arrival, please check with your host whether dogs are allowed in the accommodation.
What happens if I don't want an Interlaken Pass?
The guest card is offered to you as an additional benefit to your paid visitor's tax.
If you do not want a digital version of the guest card, you will still receive the analogue/physical version from your host on arrival.
Waiving this does not lead to a reduction in the visitor's tax.
Do I have access to the Interlaken Pass before I arrive and can I use it?
The Interlaken Pass can be activated before your arrival.
You can view it in your user account in advance.
However, the offers can only be used during your stay.
Can the Interlaken Pass be combined?
The Interlaken Pass cannot be combined with other offers such as the Swiss Travel Pass, Bernese Oberland Pass, Half Fare Travelcard, GA Travelcard or similar.
Do I still need to book a public transport ticket despite my Interlaken Pass?
Public transport in the Holiday Region Interlaken is included according to the area of validity.
This means that you do not need to purchase a ticket, the Interlaken Pass is all you need to show.
As dogs are not included in the Interlaken Pass, a ticket must be purchased depending on the size of the dog (see here).
A ticket must also be purchased for the transport of bicycles/bikes.
You can find all the information here.
